Welcome to this Australian Immigration advice website. My name is Michaela Byers and I am a solicitor and registered migration agent. I have 12 years work experience providing advice to migrants. I believe in providing accurate information and affordable services. I enjoy assisting migrants and get excited when my clients are granted residence.

My clients are from many parts of the world, in particular Indonesia, China, Korea, the Indian Sub-Continent, Middle East, Russia, Slovakia and South America. My staff is able to speak Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Indonesian.

I assist migrants with a wide range of visa categories and citizenship applications for children; skilled migration for professionals/trade-persons and recent Australian graduates; temporary business sponsorship, protection visas; and review applications to the Refugee Review Tribunal, Migration Review Tribunal and the Federal Court.

I have recently begun to use my experience to educate other migration agents and lawyers. Through a new company, Migration Education Services Pty Ltd, I am delivering seminars on various aspects of immigration.

Migration agents provide a valuable service in completing forms and assembling applications. However, migration legislation and procedures are changing at a hectic pace and lawyers have the research skills to keep up-to-date and the ability to understand when decision makers get it wrong and what to do about it. In addition, it is unfortunate that the current government has reduced options available to migrants to legalise their stay in Australia, so far too often tribunals and courts are the only options for migrants to take .
